Transport

Most people in the catchment have to move on small tracks or dirt roads. Several small towns are joined by murram roads that are often dodgy in the rainy season.

The catchment is crossed by the Mombasa-Kisumu Highway, which then continues to Uganda and which is part of the Trans African Highway network supposed to be continuous up to Accra (Ghana).

Naivasha town is by far the largest in the catchment. Gilgil, an important garrison town, is the only other urban area of any size.
